Whether they be an actual person or the implied mentorshp that great books provide. Others use simple observation as their own personal mentor. One definition of a mentor, which I find interesting is: "Someone whose hindsight can become your foresight." Put simply, this means to learn from others, specifically the mistakes of others. This can be done through reading and observing, but I would say it is most effective through an actual mentor relationship. Being able to learn directly from someone who has experience in whatever endeavor you're working toward is a "short-cut" to success, if there ever were one. In Income for Life, the most powerful benefit is the mentoring, which occurs with the wealth coaches. These coaches provide real life experiences. These experiences cannot be obtained through reading and observing. They can only be obtained by doing. I cherish the relationships I have had and continue to have with a number of coaches and mentors. I owe these folks a debt that could only be repaid by passing on their wisdom through the mentorship of others. So go out and get yourself a mentor with whom you can build a relationship, listen to and apply their wisdom, and you shall prosper! Josh Schoenly
