Going Foward.... What Do We Do???

Posted: 18 Nov 2008 10:46 AM CST

I woke up this morning, turned on my computer and had this quote pop into my email, "There are many ways of going forward, but only way of standing still." By Franklin D Rooselvelt.

As I read this quote, I started to reflect not only on my life and situation, but also of the hundred or so Chicago area real estate investors that I am currently working with, and I had a tremendous realization.

Now I am sure your next question is well what is it???

Before I tell you, I want lay a little foundation first.

Now I am sure many of you know this, but we are currently in one of the worst financial crises we have ever been, in our nations history. We see reports on a daily basis of how awful the real estate market is, how our idiotic banking industry contiues to flounder, and how layoffs are increasing and company profits and revenues are plunging.

With all this chaos and negativity, it is sometimes hard to get out of bed in the morning. Especially now the we are heading into another lovely Chicago winter.

But when I read this quote along with a fax that I recieved yesterday, from one of my Mentors Rob Minton, I realized that we all must NOT STAND STILL. We are where we are, and are heading where we are, because too many people are Standing STILL. But we individually and as a nation, cannot afford to do that, especially where our economy is concerned.

We must not only move forward, but we must also increase the speed at which we are moving forward. In my company, I have let it be known, that we are moving forward, I have asked all my employees to work longer hours and take on more responsibility, during these tough economic times. Unfortunately, there paychecks depend on it. I personally, have committed as well to waking up early and going to bed later to allow more time for ACTION.

Why, because what are my other options? Failure... Being like everyone else out there. Bury my head in the sand and wait till this is all over. Not a chance...

Now my question to you is, What are you doing? What are you going to do? How can you do it bigger? And, if there are obstacles, such as time, money, support etc. Well what are you going to do about it.

One of the greatest things about life and making money, is that life is nothing more than a problem solving business. Figure out what the problem is and then apply as many solutions to the problem as possible.

SO what are you going to do???
